Unite for Good, for the people of Minneapolis

Statement from the President and Board of Directors

For 115 years, the Rotary Club of Minneapolis has been rooted in this city, shaped by its people, strengthened by its resilience, and committed to its well‑being. Minneapolis is our home. We were founded here, we live, work, and serve here, and when our community is hurting, we step forward.

Today, our city is facing deep human suffering. Families are shaken, neighbors are grieving, and many are experiencing fear and uncertainty. Rotary is a non‑religious, non‑partisan organization, but we are never neutral when it comes to human dignity. Our values call us to act with compassion, courage, and unity whenever the humanity of our neighbors is at stake.

We are putting this $50,000 forward as seed funding and invite others to join us. Many fellow Rotarians across the United States and around the world have already asked how they can serve this city in this moment. We invite Rotarians and our corporate and philanthropic partners to help us raise an additional $50,000 toward our $100,000 goal. Together, we can do this. As Rotarians, people of action, we are called to respond now. This is our moment to act. By standing together in service, we can bring stability, dignity, and hope to families and small businesses that need it most.

With 1.4 million members worldwide, Rotary is a global force for good. Here in Minneapolis, that calling is personal. Our legacy will not be defined only by how long we have served, but by how we show up when it matters most.

The moment is now. The need is real. Let us unite for good, for the people of Minneapolis.

Signed:

Jireh (G-Ray) Mabamba, President, Rotary Club of Minneapolis

    Learn

At our meetings, we learn about the world around us. We grow from the range of perspectives of our distinguished speakers. We also begin to imagine the effects we can have on our work and ourselves. This inspiration leads to great things. We invite you to come and learn with Minneapolis Rotary. We meet at the heart of our city which is why we tell our speakers:

“Welcome to the finest podium in Minneapolis.”

    Connect

Every Friday* offers the perfect environment to connect with Minneapolis Rotary. We begin with a networking lunch where you can socialize with other downtown business professionals and discuss ideas, business trends, and other key issues to our Minnesota business culture. We then move to the presentation of the day, where we go deep on a subject relative to all businesses. It’s a packed hour that will leave you informed and energized- a perfect way to close the week.

    Serve

Nothing enriches a community more than service, working together for the common good.  Together, we support the youth of Minneapolis and foster international understanding and goodwill. Our members serve with their time, money, and expertise. If you seek enrichment through service, Club #9 has countless opportunities to serve your community.
