Knit together as one

Nothing enriches a community more than service, working together for the common good. Together, we support the youth of Minneapolis and foster international understanding and goodwill. Our members serve with their time, money, and expertise. If you seek enrichment through service, Club #9 has countless opportunities to serve your community.

Local Service Committee

Club #9 is committed to serving Minneapolis through a variety of programs including Youth Exchange, college scholarships, and the Innovation Partner program.

Our current Innovation Partner is Way to Grow that helps families from birth to third grade. For 35 years, Way to Grow has provided free, year-round family support and educational programming for families in Minneapolis and the surrounding suburbs.

Through virtual and in-person home visits, our team of Family Educators build trusted relationships with parents and children, working language-to-language whenever possible to create a customized learning plan that celebrates the entire family.

World Service Committee

We do our part locally, but how can we hope to make an impact worldwide when global problems are so overwhelming? By working in concert with Rotary International, our club can compound contributions to create significant grants. Through partnerships and "matching grants" we are able to make significant contributions to international projects.  Our local contributions are matched with funds from Rotary International and the District. For example, a $5,000 allocation from our committee can be matched dollar-for-dollar by the District. This $10,000 may then be eligible for an additional $7,500 from RI. So our original $5,000 grows to make a $17,500 project possible!

Minneapolis Rotary Foundation

In the early 1950’s, Minneapolis Rotarians established the Minneapolis Rotary Foundation to support our service mission. The Minneapolis Rotary Foundation is a Minnesota 501c3 nonprofit corporation. This foundation funds the service activities of the club. These activities include local and global service projects as well as scholarships and other initiatives. The Minneapolis Rotary Foundation’s assets exceed $4 million USD. This places us in the top 20 of Rotary club foundations in the country.

Between the annual campaign and the earnings from the endowments, Minneapolis Rotary is able to expend about $180,000 annually in support of the club’s service mission.
